Artist Statement

My motto: "You can do anything if you want to do it."

Artwork has been part of my life since early childhood.  Mostly self-taught, I feel that art is a continual learning experience.  Classes under various artists have caused me to become more enthused in the creation of artwork and I find myself leaning more towards oils and pastels.  I take the most pleasure in a realistic approach to painting.

My work has earned ribbon and money prizes as well as being in private collections throughout the country. A renowned catalog company specializing in lighthouse objects has bought and sold some of my originals as well as reproductions.  I have participated in several art shows and shown my work in Maine locations, including the Old Orchard Beach Art Association, the York Dyer Institute, River Tree Center for the Arts and the River Club in Kennebunkport.

I am presently a member of the Saco Bay Artists Association, Women in the Arts, Saco Art Guild and Pastel Painters of Maine.

Currently I paint in my studio at home in Kennebunk, Maine.

I am grateful for this God given talent and for a very understanding and encouraging husband who is my best critic.
